New Boston occupies the north end of Boston. The city is surrounded by a fifty-foot wall, fortified with steel and guarded heavily by the military guard. The three main entry points to the city consist of the Charles River Bridge to the north, the South Gate, and the Harbor Doors on the east of the city, facing the bay. There are very few remaining pre-plague buildings, and those that were refurbished and restored usually serve a different purpose than they did before the plague.

The city’s new construction includes dozens of skyscrapers and massive towers. Manufacturing plants in the south area of the city contribute to the smog and haze of fog that tends to cloud the streets. 2.5 million people reside within the walled city and the attached New Fort Devons.
